The Kiswa Factory of the Holy Kaaba

In the middle of the year 1346 AH, King Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud (may Allah have mercy on his soul), issued an order to establish a special factory for manufacturing the Kiswa (cover) of the Kaaba. The work continued in building the factory for the Kiswa of the Kaaba until it was renovated and updated, and opened in the year 1397 AH.

 

Visiting Hours

 

The complex welcomes its Muslim visitors, to experience a unique educational experience in weaving and embroidering the Kiswa of the Kaaba from Monday to Thursday from 8:00 am to 11:00 am.

Hira Cultural Center

A cultural and tourist landmark, located next to Mount Hira, that tells the story of revelation and provides information about the mountain, the cave, and their historical significance. It contributes to enriching the knowledge and cultural experience of visitors through its diverse components.

Institute of Manuscripts and Islamic Heritage

Umm Al-Qura University established the Institute of Islamic Heritage Revival in 1396 AH, and the center was able to collect Islamic manuscripts from various parts of the world in its early stages. More than twenty thousand manuscripts were gathered in the institute, serving countless numbers of professors from Saudi and Arab universities as well as international students of higher education specializing in Islamic studies, Arabic language, and historical and cultural studies, in addition to its primary function of reviving Islamic heritage.

King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Zamzam Water Project

King Abdulaziz ordered the construction of a pathway for Zamzam water in 1345 AH, followed by a second pathway in 1346 AH, and the repair and cleaning of the Zamzam well with a cover in the same year.

 

King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz ordered the construction of a water purification station to preserve the properties of Zamzam water, along with a filling station, transportation lines, control and monitoring systems, automatic storage, and other facilities in 1427 AH. Since King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Suad (may Allah protect him) came to office, he was keen to keep this project going.
