King Fahad National Library

In order to convey their love and commitment to King Fahad, the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the people of Riyadh declared the Library Project back in 1983 when King Fahad first took office. The project started as a public library, which then turned into a national library that kept developing throughout the years until its current state.

King Fahad National Library is considered the top destination for students, researchers, and readers. You'll have an enriching experience between its halls and bookshelves filled with all types of books. This library holds a large number of sources, up to two and a half million, ranging from books, manuscripts, letters, and audio-visual tapes used by more than 100 thousand people a year. The library also offers many different services to its visitors, such as:

systemic deposit service, which allows visitors to deposit their university papers and make them available for researchers. Saudi Unified Index is an extensive tool that holds all types of Saudi data sources in one place. "Masdar" service enables the national intellectual production digitally, and many other services available through the e-platform.

Enjoy your free time inside the library by grabbing a book and sitting in one of the library's quiet and relaxing reading areas. The library also has many vending machines for snacks and drinks. Grab a book that arouses your curiosity, get lost between its pages, and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere at the coffee shop located on the third floor of the library.

Enjoy a nice tour inside Riyadh's largest library and discover its auditorium which holds around 400 seats. This auditorium hosts cultural activities and workshops that are regularly announced on the library's website. Due to the huge national service provided by the library, it is considered a major national status. It also holds an important historical place in Riyadh, as it controls and regulates the local intellectual production as well as publishing and authenticating it. It also provides reference studies and consultation services to different governmental entities.

The library's park has more than 20 food stands serving all types of traditional dishes made by professional chefs, accompanied by live music which creates a beautiful dining experience for the visitors.
