An Islamic landmark and a unique event
Makkah embraces many mosques that represent Islamic historical landmarks, some of them are related to a story or an event during the era of the Messenger (PBUH), and one of them is Masjid Al-Jinn near the Al-Hajun neighbourhood.
According to sources, Masjid Al-Jinn was named after the place where Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) met the jinn. It is also known as Al-Haras Mosque because the guards used to circumambulate the Kaaba until they reached the mosque, where they would stop until its companions and guards caught up with it. Masjid Al-Jinn is one of the mosques located in Makkah since the second century of the Hijri calendar and witnessed several renovations during the era of the Islamic Caliphate, which continued until the present time.
Muslim visitors can visit it throughout the year. This mosque is located in front of Al-Mu’lat cemetery. You can go to learn about the events of that place and perform prayers.
