Historical Diriyah’s establishment dates back to 1446 AD. It was established after the arrival of Mani’ bin Rabi’a Al-Muraydi from a small town located near Qatif, to a fertile land on the banks of Wadi Hanifa.
With the spread of security in the first Saudi state, the expansion of its territory, and the development of urbanization, architecture flourished in Diriyah. As a result, the number of districts and mosques increased, and princes, heads of tribes, and ambassadors flocked to Diriyah’s councils. It is the most important districts of Diriyah, and one of the five Saudi sites included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. At-Turaif district includes Salwa Palace, from which the affairs of the first Saudi state were managed. It was also visited by scholars and ambassadors of neighboring regions.

Al-Bujairi district is located on the Eastern side of Wadi Hanifa. It includes Imam Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab Mosque and his school, which was once attended by scholars.
Al-Suraiha district is located in the North of Al-Bujairi district. It includes several houses and farms, in addition to Al-Suraiha Mosque, which is one of the oldest mosques in Diriyah.
Ghusayba district is the first capital of the region, and it is 2 km away from At-Turaif district. The district is surrounded by walls built from rocks. The main gate is located in the middle of the Eastern wall of the district.
