At-Turaif district allows you to tour among the evidence of the birth of the first Saudi state. You can see the style of ancient Najdi and Islamic architectures, and explore its castles and buildings that were built using mud and palm trunks, which gave them durability that made them survive over the years.
At the very front of At-Turaif district, you will be greeted by Salwa Palace, which extends over an area of 10,000 m2. It is one of the most prominent landmarks of the district and its most important historical sites. It was founded in 1765 AD, where it was the headquarters of government during the era of the first Saudi state. The palace includes seven residential units. It was given this name because of its construction that has multiple uses, which makes it a consolation for its residents and visitors.
